There are numerous restorative dental materials on the market. All materials work well in various situations, and what separates a good clinician from a great clinician is knowing when and where to use a certain material. This information coupled with the fact that kids can often be unpredictable makes it very important to be well versed with the placement of multiple dental materials such that providers can handle difficult situations. As we continue the search for the ideal restorative dental material, we must embrace the great ones that exist today. Mastering the ART of placing glass ionomers is one challenge; fully understanding their potential to help in difficult situations can improve every clinician’s success. This CE webinar will focus on the use of glass ionomers, resin modified glass ionomers, and cements.
Upon completion of this CE webinar, the participant will: • Understand the benefits of glass ionomer-based products in restorative dentistry for pediatric patients • Recognize the limitations of glass ionomer cements, and resin modified glass ionomers in pediatric dentistry, and learn how to minimize failures • Describe the differences in cements currently available to cement crowns • Implement a proactive program for minimally invasive dentistry for uncooperative kids waiting for definitive dental care
